Acctylated Lanolin Alcohol - an ester resembling steroid generally found on the skin. Highly comedogenic. Has mild irritation potential.

Aluminum Acetate Solution - also known as Burrow’s solution - It’s metal content has produced skin rash and severe sloughing of the skin.

Amydimethyl PABA - causes skin irritability. It is no longer available in the U.S.

Anhydrous Lanolin - An emollient that depending on it’s processing can be comedogenic.

Anise Extract - used as a fragrance. It may cause allergic reactions, and produce hives, scaling and blisters if applied directly on the skin.

Balm Mint Oil - often combined with citronella oil - may cause skin irritation.

Behenyl Erucate - a skin conditioning agent. Considered comedogenic.

Ceresin - a waxy agent used in protective creams. May cause allergic reactions.

Cetearyl Alcohol - a form of alcohol that is comedogenic and sometimes irritating to the skin.

Cetyl Acetate - from the ester of Cetyl Alcohol Andacetic Acid, it is highly comedogenic.

Cinnamic Acid - found in cinnamon leaves and cocoa leaves. In high concentrations, cinnamon oil can cause skin irritations. It may cause allergic skin rashes.

Citronella Java Oil - antiseptic uses, herbal distillation may cause a skin rash when used in cosmetics.

Cocoa Butter - a skin softener and lubricator. It is con­sidered comedogenic and may cause allergic reactions.

Coconut Butter / Oil - used as a cream base. It may be irritating, cause skin rashes and considered comedo­genic to the skin.

Corn Oil - used as a carrier or delivery system. It has a high comedogenic content.

Egg Protein - used as a moisture-retention agent. It may cause skin rashes and allergic reactions for those pre-disposed to allergies to eggs.

Ethel Alcohol - from grain distillation, used as a topical antiseptic, anti-bacterial and astringent. It is commonly known as rubbing alcohol, it is too strong and too drying for the skin.

Eucalyptus Oil - has antiseptic, disinfectant and blood circulation activating properties. It may cause allergic reac­tions.

Glutaral - a preservative that can cause skin irritation.

Isocreme - used as an emollient. It is a mixture of mineral oil, lanolin, petrolatum and lanolin alcohol - comedogenic to the skin.

Lanolin - a sheep’s wool derivative, it is highly comedogenic.

Laureth - 4 - a surfactant that is highly comedogenic and irritating to the skin.

Lauric Acid - used as a base in most commercial soaps and detergents. It is mild irritant and comedogenic.

Mysistic Acid - a surfactant and cleansing agent used in product penetration, it has a high comedogenicity potential.

Mysistic Alcohol - an emollient used in product penetration, it has a high comedogenicity potential.

Mysistic Lactate - an emollient used in product penetration, it has a high comedogenicity potential.

Oleyl Alcohol - used as an emollient, it may be come­dogenic and mildly irritating.

Polyphenol - a coloring agent, it is irritating and sensi­tizing to the skin.
